Mary falls into the haybetween them. Virginia’s mood lightens. Virginia lifts her arm and points to her forearm. She grabs her hair. John Casor is walking hurriedly toward the manor house. Hearrives to find Virginia seated on the front porch. She rises, turns to enter the house, and he follows. Mary laughs heartily.
