Eight finely-dressed men, including NICHOLAS SPENCER, areseated around a large, heavy wood table, in front of alarge fireplace, smoking cigars, pipes, and drinking ale.

The men include Matthew Pippin and Lt. John Neale, who weremember from the Scarborough wedding announcementgathering.

The entryway door flies open. CAPT. MONTAGUE, a gray-hairedman with a prominent mustache, enters with a large leathersatchel, stuffed with papers. All stand.

Capt. Montague sits at the head of the table and all areseated.

The men express their collective agreement and approval.
